Образование нескольких копий сигнала, каждая из которых вследствие различной длины траекторий (разности хода лучей) приходит в точку приема с разной фазой и амплитудой. При сложении энергии нескольких лучей, если не принять специальных мер, возникают искажения, приводящие к ухудшению качества связи. Одним из наиболее эффективных методов борьбы с такими искажениями является оптимальное сложение разнесенных сигналов.
